"This Above All - - -"

My Mother, Joan, was an actress, before she married my Father . . . first studying at RADA, and then, working in productions in the Provinces and in London.

As a small child, she would tell me Fairy Tales and recite to me wonderful Shakespeare [describing to me the Scene, and making it seem “REAL”] !!
- - - and this was Shakespeare’s wisdom, from “Hamlet” . . .

“This above all;
To thine own self, be true,
And it must follow, as the Night the Day,
Thou canst not then be False to any Man.“

- - - and THIS was a “saying” my Mother recited to me often . . .
insisting
I should “follow” my ‘heart’ [but NOT to the ‘damage’ of others] - - !!

. . . THIS I have always done . . .!!
And so - - -
years later,
when I met and married Nicola (SIMBARI)
I became
“the woman behind the man . . .” ?

Today . . . I decided to “surf” the Net !!   WHAT I have found - - IS - - - MANY, MANY, many Simbari Paintings are OF ME !! He never called them with MY name . . . but THEY ARE of ME !!!! Sewing, shelling peas, resting, sunbathing, doing my embroidery (in his Studio, whilst he painted!), hanging out the laundry, arranging flowers, playing with the cats (or dogs), sitting (or standing) and looking out to sea, on rocks, or beach, or dock jetty - - - and the list goes on and on !!

- - - and The Memories of this CHARISMATIC Man . . . flood back to the fore . . . dedicated to HIS Art . . . and yet, Life was to be ENJOYED . . . he was “naughty” and “unpredictable” he was “The Clown” - -
